At Friday, Eldredge & Clark, Information Technology is an integral part of the firm's operations. We believe that the flow of information from attorney to client and from client to attorney should be both fast and efficient. We have invested in and continue to invest in a state of the art data network, phone system and Blackberry handheld devices to provide client service in the most effective manner. Our attorneys enjoy access to the data network twenty-four hours a day from anywhere in the world. Access to the data network enables our attorneys to receive and send both e-mails and faxes, access
litigation support databases, participate in video conferences, produce and edit documents, access our Client Relationship Management system, record time, review accounting information and to use additional software packages that increase productivity.
Our data network is connected to the internet through redundant broadband connections so that our attorneys usually receive their e-mail within seconds after the e-mail is sent. Additionally, through these internet connections, we provide access to subscription services that have the most up-to-date legal research databases, including Commerce Clearing House, Bureau of National Affairs, and Lexis-Nexis.
Our attorneys and their support staff use powerful document management software which is key to maintaining a high degree of productivity for our clients. Inherent in this technology is a retrieval system allowing our attorneys to quickly find, share and research work product.
Our Information Technology Group consists of seven IT professionals dedicated to ensuring that the data network and voice communication systems are secure and continuously available. The IT staff are also responsible for the day-to-day support of nearly 200 users, implementing leading-edge business tools and providing on-going user training. We hold a strong belief that scheduled training sessions, user documentation and just-in-time desk-side training are key ingredients to achieving a high level of staff productivity and client satisfaction. The IT staff has a dedicated trainer and a dedicated Litigation Support specialist using sophisticated litigation technology.
